Let There Be More Stash

Going to start with bad pictures of Sarah Braizear.  It is difficult to take good pictures since she is rather large.  I don't like to keep ironing her for pictures, just flattens out the threads too much or I'm just not that motivated.  Progress on the bottom section
I love the flower arbor so much!  I think this is my favorite sections of this gorgeous sampler.
I'm on the other side of the arbor but, taking a short break to do my May ornament for the ornament challenge.  I'll post it when it's done.
Now for the STASH!.  I have all the thread called for in the BBD Sewing Club book.  I place a small galvanized holder I got a while ago from Hobby Lobby that I'm sure will find a project that will fit on it from the book.  I have the two pieces of linen from Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe.  When I get closer to starting something, I will decide which piece is going to work for me.  May's is coming, who knows what that surprise will bring and may be my actual choice.  I was watching Nicole's Needlework latest FlossTube  yesterday while riding my exercise bike, and she reported these two and the February's (I don't have that one) are going to be colors she will carry on her site.  That is always good to know, especially if one decides it has become a favorite go to color.
One of my co-workers 12 y/o daughter was looking for something to do.  She has been involved in historical re-enactments at a site in Copper Harbor, MI.  I though she might be interested in cross stitch.  I have Pat Ryan's Historic Sampler Book (got a good deal on Amazon from a secondary seller and it's even autographed).  My favorite sampler is the one on the cover and you know what, it isn't in the book.
Fortunately, it is referenced, so what the heck, I Googled it and found a pattern from Cobweb Corner.
That always lead to another thing, so I picked up BBD Oh Joyous Day that was a new release.  Sarah Pellman will look good grouped with Mary Miller because the colors are so similar.
My favorite Theresa Kogut sampler this year is Pet All The Dogs.  Incase you didn't know, I am a huge dog fan!  You are all well aware of that fact.  I got the supplies.  I wasn't able to get the called for fabric so I substituted R&R Winter's Brew.  That is a fabulous color.
I really like this Scarlett House Sampler.  I think is probably not as popular as the others she released this year.  I really am smitten by the pheasant in the center of the piece.
I continue to work seeing post op therapy clients whose surgical recovery results would be compromised without therapy.  That amounts to two half days a week and screening people as they come into the hospital.  Fortunately, at this time, we have few cases in our area.  It can be either crazy busy or slower than molasses. Sometimes, you get really cranky, mean people.  There are always a few her are snotty about wearing a mask.  It can be really difficult to be polite to these people.  Either way it can be exhausting.  Not leaving much time for stitching.  I take dishclothes to knit if its slow because, when I'm done, I just throw them in the wash and don't worry about contamination.

Hope you are all staying healthy and safe.  Please wear masks, wash your hands and practice social distancing.  This thing is far from being over and I'm afraid people are just getting laxadaisical.

And your welcome, if I enabled you!

Keep on Stitching
Monica

  1. Lovely stash additions! Okay, so I am curious about the VMSS linen. Is Nicole Needlework going to have a site and carry the linens or is Nancy going to add them as stock colors in her shop? I have that sampler book, but wasn't paying attention to the cover. Thank you for the chart heads up! Enjoy the rest of your week!

  2. Great additions to your stash! You are right, I went to the garden center today and thought people were getting careless. I tried to stay away from others, grabbed my plants and left!

  3. Love your stash! I'm soo tempted to get some more stash too; nothing cheers you up more than new stash. However, I've spent the last month debating with myself whether I can afford it or not... I'm still undecided...

  4. Sarah is looking lovely! 2020 is certainly the year of samplers! So many new tempting charts! :-) I've heard mention that the Pet All The Dogs has a Cat conversion included in the pattern? I like dogs as well....but we currently have a cat and I do not want him to get offended...lol!

  5. Sarah is so pretty.
What a bummer that the Sampler isn't even in the book.
You have some great Samplers to work on.
I too love the Scarlett House.

  6. Monica, Sarah is beautiful! I don't iron either for posts because if I did, it would never happen!
