Can you tell someone has been messing with my camera. Ed is home for my birthday and I don't know when he took or his sister took this picture but, now he is in my blog. It doesn't pay to be goofy...you may end up on the internet.
We have been having electronic issues for the last two days. I think that the cable company has a block on our phone number. We have had issues connecting to the internet. We have a wireless router that wouldn't connect. We could connect hard wire but, what good is that when there are three laptops with both kids home, an IPad and a Nook. We are a connected family. DH stopped and bought a new wireless router. Ed tried to connect it with no luck. We think the modem may be going too. Anticipating a new one in the future too. Bob did get it connected when he got home from work. It is amazing how much you miss the net when it really isn't accessible.
I finished the first part of the Strawberry Hill Sampler. This will be the top of the Whitman sampler box. I started on the pin keep. There is also a needle and scissor keep. I also found at a bead store a hinged glass case that I figure I could make a thread keep. I have seen something like that on the With Thy Needle and Thread website but, it is a picture laminated in acrylic. They look more like a key ring. When I use overdyes, I leave them on the card they come on and use a binder ring. I figure this would work really great. I also will make a scissor fob with a motif from this collection.
I think this is really going to be stunning when it is done. The directions call for linen colored paint but, I may decide to go darker. I'm not sure yet. I will test it before I actually decide to paint the box. I want to see how the dark brown wax will look. I have bottles of both color paints. Got quite a weekend going on. My daughter is working tonight. DH, son and MIL are meeting Katy's boyfriend at the casino. I am staying home. I would much rather spend my money on stash. Tomorrow the family is coming for dinner and we are cooking a brisket on the grill. It takes about four hours to do but, it is awesome. I am trying a new recipe, Baked Oatmeal with Apples and Cinnamon from Mennonite Girls Can Cook blog. I have my college girls weekend next weekend and if this turns out, I'm going to make it then. But, tonight once I am done blogging, will stitch and watch creepy stuff on TV.
Welcome new members. I am so glad you have joined me. Thanks everyone for the great comments. I love getting them. Hope you all have a great weekend with lots of time for stitching.
Keep on stitching
Monica
