I'm So Excited

I'm so excited, I got my set of Antique Dried Flower Collection from
Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe.
Let me tell you the colors are incredible!
My photo doesn't exactly do it justice.
The colors are softer than they look on my picture.
I plan on using it for Stacy Nash: Elizabeth Thomson - Sampler Pinkeep.
It will be perfect!

Nancy really outdid herself on this one!

Company is Coming

Bob's brother and wife are coming for Memorial Day weekend.
I've been working on cleaning up the sewing room.
That means finishing a pile of projects, well at least the easy ones.
The hard ones are odd shaped cut outs and several reps in finishing.
I got several pinkeeps and a couple of framing pieces.
When they are done, I will post pictures
I did finish Live Simply and I had the frame parts for it.
I just have to lace up the back.
I really do love the way it turned out!

I did buy a new quilt and a memory foam pad to make the  bed more comfortable.
Our local JCP is closing so I did get some good dels on the quilt and shams. It will go well in the room.
I do have a great  sense of accomplishment.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Have a great week to!
Keep on Stitching!

Just Stitching Away

I have just been stitching away on Live Simply because it is such a fun project!
I love the color of the thread together.
I have a few letters and the some motifs and then done!
After that I have a Prairie Schooler I thought I had done in the past, Country Seasons.  I can't find Spring.  I have Summer, Fall and Winter but Spring is no where to be found.  Lm going to do it again. Looking at the picture, I don't recall it either.

Met my college friends for lunch this weekend in Appleton. I almost thought I was going to make it.  Got about five miles from home when the tire light went on. Called Bob who said, "it will be fine.  It's probably just a sensor,". When I got further down the road, like thirty miles, I stopped where we bought it and the patched the tire.  Everything was uneventful until the ride home.  Did have a great visit.  Talked about families, the first grandchild in the group and an upcoming wedding later this summer.  On the way home, there was an accident, traffic was routed off as a detour but no one really had any idea where we were going.  Let me tell you, that was interesting.

There is another give away at the Victorian Motto and Sampler Shoppe for a thread collection.  Check it out.
Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!  Missing my mom but, she's in a better place!  Otherwise, I did have a wonderful day.  Thankful for my great family!

Have a great week.  Keep on Stitching!

Live Simply

Still channeling my inner Magnolia.
Picked up these nice big lanterns at Pier One this weekend.
The biggest one is 22".
The other two are probably about 16".
All three are going on top of my china cabinet.
I need to get some remote control candles to put in them.
Not into the whitewashed lanterns.
Then I was at JoAnn Fabrics and picked up some silk hydrangeas for my Magnolia tin bucket.
I think these will go better in my color scheme than the blue and white ones.
Just have to get into putting them in an arrangement.
Starting working on WTN&T Live Simply small sampler.
This was the project I took to Texas with me.
It calls for Valdani thread but, honestly, I don't think I like that brand.
I have had issues with the thread falling apart.
I using one thread on 40 count over two.
I think in the future, I will sub a different thread for Valdani rather than purchasing more.

I completed the Stacy Nash  Sewing box now I have to finish it.
Looking at it while I blog, I wonder if I missed a chimney.
I better check before I do anything else to it.
It wouldn't be the first time I forgot something and figured it out after it was framed.
Oops!
Just been so incredibly busy as work and home.
While making dinner tonight, I also worked on a salad for a potluck tomorrow.

Going to wrap it up so I can stitch for a little while
Have a great week!

Texas

Last week, we made a trip to Dallas for a family wedding.
It was great together with family!

Before we went, I checked to see how far Waco.
We really enjoy watching Fixer Upper.
Chip is just such a regular guy and says the stuff your husband would say....or at least mine.
We made the road trip to Waco to see Magnolia.
Before we left, when people asked me where we were going and I told them Waco,
The response, "Are you going to the Silos?"
We sure did!
We had a great time.

Got some packets of seeds to give away.
Bob's proof he was there.
And mine.

The family area has games, balls, and the 2x4 blocks that I had just watched the episode they did that with the kids.
There are food trucks around the perimeter.
Offered to get Bob a Demo Day cap but, he wasn't interested.
Had to get a pic of Demo Day.

The retail store was crazy busy.
Lines were long
I sent my purchases home via Fed Ex and spent almost as much doing that as what I spent.
We didn't want to wait in the Bakery line for cupcakes and instead had Tex Mex in town.
A great restaurant called Ninfa's.
The guacamole was awesome!

You always see this building on the show.
Some of the seed packets.
I plan on framing a couple of them after I plant the seeds.
My goodies all came yesterday.
I picked up the mug and the small tray for Katy.
Ed got a tooled belt and buckle.
Now, I'm just trying to recover.
We had VERY long hikes through airports and the joints are still kind of sore.
The ankle made it though!
Got a little stitching done.
Next post will be some stitching pictures.

Keep on Stitching!
