Waiting For Grandchester To Come On

Waiting for Masterpiece Theater and Grandchester to come on, so I thought I would post.
In between projects, a good time to work on Autumn in Hawk Run.
I'm on square three.
Made a mistake on the grass color but, decided not to rip it out since I actually think it is more of a fall grass color than the light greens the pattern shows.
I will just work with it since I really wasn't inclined to rip it all out.
The nice thing about this project is it lots of smaller projects.
I feel like it is going faster that way.
I am starting to work on Christmas presents, can't show them.
I do think I will be starting on some fall projects.
Maybe a PS Autumn Sampler or two or three and frame them by the front door.
That area needs a larger piece or grouping.
Right now, I still have Stacy Nash Christmas at Winterberry Farm....I think that's the name.

So what is the fascination with Australian accents.
Have on some Alaska Show on PBS right now and the commentator sounds Australian.
Then there is the Trivago commercials and that woman sounds like she can't make up her mind if she is Australian or British.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Australian and British accents but, I'm wondering if these people are for real or just pretending....heavy sigh.

Okey dokey, that sums it up.
Hope you have had an amazing weekend, got lots of stitching done!
Have an amazing week.

FINALLY!!!

Finally, His Eye is on the Sparrow  is back from the framers!
Happy dance!!
It did turn out well and frame up close is perfect.
The wood looks old.
I couldn't get a good picture of that.

Up close and personal

It was a nail biter
She did a good job it just took a ridiculously long time.
She did deducted $50 for the time it took.

I am working on Autumn at Hawk Run which when done I will have framed because that is a large piece but, I will consult with my LNS and see who she recommends.

I think I will sleep soundly tonight!
Have a great weekend!

The Crime Scene

I couldn't get one big picture of the crime scene so its in parts.
We have had issues with deer jumping the fence and nibbling on my petunias, Katy's tomato and pepper plants.
I mixed up the sauce to spray on them but the garlic plugged up my spray bottle and broke it.
So Bob came up with the crime scene tape and stakes.
It is working well keeping the varmints away.
My petunias and impatiens are doing very well.
The grass if very green because we have had a lot of heavy and consistent rain.
We haven't had to turn on the sprinkle system in the front yard.
Hooray, that saves me several hundred dollars this summer.

I finished my Prairie Schooler Summer Sampler
I have frames that it will fit in.
I got three matching at Michaels and have several of these Sampler projects that I can interchange them.
If I haven't heard from that framer by tomorrow, I stopping in again on Thursday and plan on collecting it all up and taking it to a different framer.
I have been more that patient.

Bob and I saw Dunkirk this past weekend.
I was excellent!
I really recommend it.

That about wraps it up.
I wanted to finish the sampler so I could post.

Hope you are having a stellar week!

Are You Listening Hoffman Distributors?

I am getting very close to the finish line here.
I would say I am 3/4 of the way done.
I really love the sun!
This is from Prairie Schooler Summer Samplers a re-release from Hoffman Distribution.\
I am really happy they have bought the Prairie Schooler Designs and are releasing them again.
But.....Are you listening Hoffman Dis?  I wish you would print them on something a little more substantial.
We are paying full price but, plain paper?  Use something a little heavier please.
Over the years, I have developed a fondness for Pyrex Butterfly Gold (1972-1978)
I have nesting bowls and some casseroles.
We were bumming around on Saturday and found a butter dish and a small casserole about 1 1/2 inches deep and 6" diameter.
It will be great for dips and such.
It was really fun talking to the shop owner about Pyrex.
He told us that he sells the butter dishes as soon as he finds them.
It is fun to look for something specifically when going to Antiques Stores.
I have never seen a butter dish before so, of course, I had to snap it up!

I published and then decided to talk about my latest experience with the local framer.
I am becoming distraught.
I brought her my His Eye is on the Sparrow on April 26 and I still don't have it back.
After she had it 6-7 weeks I called and she told me one of the sides of the frame came scratched so she had to get a new one.
I called again three weeks after that and she said she just got the part and it would be done the mid week. I went mid week while I was running errands and got a song and dance about "being sooo busy and being sick and she was training someone".
I don't hide my feelings, I'm sure I looked angry.
April 26 to now....almost 12 weeks.
What is a reasonable time for framing????
I'm getting worried she has made a mistake and ruined it.
I don't believe I will be taking anything back to her.
I usually do my own framing but this was a bigger piece than what I can handle.

Hope you have had a great weekend!
Have a wonderful week!

Keep on Stitching and have a great week.

Prairie Schooler Summer Samplers.

I was hoping to be done with the words at the top of the piece but, just didn't get it done.
The picture is a little off kilter but, I was having some issues.
I had an assistant.
Buster decided he needed to let me know he needs to be the focus.
The thing is, he really doesn't like to have his picture taken.
He was kind of cooperative tonight in a "let me lay on your stitching" mood.
Got a nose and eye.
"Let me hold that piece down for you."
I needed some fabric.
I have a bunch of PS samplers I eventually want to do.
I looked on 123 Stitch for Lambswool but, it is way on back order.
I don't know that I really like Lambswool because it is really stiff.
I looked at colors and decided to get a yard of Mocha which is pretty close to the Lambswool and much softer.
I also got a small piece of Country French Golden Needle which is a little darker.
Got the rest of the floss for the Summer School Sampler.
My friend Arttie was on vacation and went to a sale of a store going out of business and found a massive amount of 40 ct linen in an off white with a darker fleck.
It is an older piece but, she bought a whole bolt of it for $2.50 a yard, what it was initially wholesale.  So, I bought some from her.
I figure it can use it for things and I have a five yard piece.
The Country French Golden Needle looks darker next to it in the photo.
I made this salad recipe tonight as a dessert.
OMG, is this stuff great.
Never got around to making if for the 4th but, did it today and it is amazing!
That about sums it up.
Watching the History Channel show about Amelia Earhart.
So far it is pretty interesting.

Hope you have had a great weekend!

Some Final Finishes.....Well Sort Of.

I almost finished the Cabela's project.
I just need to stitch on a little hemp or jute hanger.
I added the antique buttons from my button jar.
I cut out a gold felt heart and stitched on the back for a little extra panache!
Turned out uber cute! Or so I think.
I haven't really hung any patriotic pieces, maybe tomorrow.
I finished the WTN&T
I just need to get a frame for this.
I may try and find one where my His Eye is on the Sparrow.
That is a whole nother story.
Its been a while it has been at the framers.
Happy Independence Day.
I have to cut it short to look for a hotel room in Marquette for my son,
