The Tooth

Katy was home this weekend to have the tooth that was filled over Spring Break checked out.
The tooth was fine, the filling was fine, the bite was fine.
She has large nerves in the tooth and her jaw which could be making it more sensitive.
The Dentist put her on and antibiotic for a week just in case.
When she came home on Thursday, she had just started with a sore throat.
By Saturday morning it was worse, she couldn't talk and she threw up.
She was always my strep kid.
The antibiotic for the tooth would work for Strep but, she was only on it for seven days and strep needs a ten day course.
Hence, a trip to the afterhours clinic.
That place was a zoo!  Fortunately we were only there for two hours (an hour too long but, that's the way it goes)
She was good enough today to drive back to school.
I'm really OCD when it comes to the germs when the family is sick.
Thank goodness for Clorox wipes and spray!
But, my throat is kind of scratchy tonight...that hopefully will only have to be a phone call to the doctors if it is worse in the a.m.
Maybe, its the crummy weather we have had today.

Now, on to something better...Spring Hare progress.
I am thinking I'm liking the pink letters and the little in his bow tie.
Finally, when and saw Mom today and brought Buster.
He was very good.
He let people pet him and didn't leave anything behind, if you know what I mean.

That should about wrap it up.
Have a wonderful week.

Taking a Little Break

I decided to take a little break from His Eye is on the Sparrow to work on La D Da's Spring Hare.
People were doing it last year and dont-cha-know day late dollar short.
I'm working on it now and he is just so handsome!
He is stitched in Garden Gate.
The letters around him are to be stitched in Sable but, I think I may do it in Rhubarb instead to make it look more springy.
I just started working on him on Tuesday.
It is really going fast so it won't be a very long break.

Katy went back to school on Sunday.
While she was home on spring break she had a cavity filled.
She started having problems with the tooth as soon as she got back to school.
The pain has gotten worse therefore she is on her way home to see the dentist tomorrow.
Stocked up on Gluten free food and told her to sleep this weekend.

Hope you have had a wonderful week.
If I can, I might try and do some framing this weekend.
Thanks for stopping and commenting.

I've Been Hopping

It has been very busy.  If you have been following my saga, then you know that my 87 y/o mother was moving into assisted living.  She has had a very rough couple of weeks dealing with the idea.  Now that she is there, I can't say she's happy but, she isn't unhappy.  She is walking better than she has in years since she is walking to the dining room.  She tells me everyone is "just so nice"  and "it is so clean."  She states, "I'm not happy but, I'm content."  So whatever that means, I'm going to take it as something good.  It has been an monumental amount of work since she didn't do any packing.  She had a hard time trying to decide what black pants to keep out of the 8 pairs she had.  Overall, I think it is going well.

Like I said, it has been a monumental amount of work.  Besides packing, there was a lot of cleaning out of stuff.  We have burned 3 grocery bags stuffed with old records.  Then there are the many phone calls and stops to change addresses.  I have a few more things to take care of but, hopefully it is winding down.  I tried to interface her bank with my Quicken but, they aren't connected.  I will have to do it the old fashion way and manually access online.

Enough of that.

Here is the update of my His Eye is on the Sparrow
Head on angle.
 My Market acquisitions
Stacy Nash Cherry Hollow Farm Sampler
The floss colors are so beautiful!
Not a great picture but, I love this sampler.
 Chessie and Me 1801 House.
I have loved little boxes since I was a little girl.
I was always on the look out for little boxes.
That is all for now.
I dvr'ed Greys Anatomy for later and it is almost time for Scandal.

Thanks for stopping and the wonderful words of encouragement during the last few difficult months.  I think the Assisted Living is the place for her to be.
She is three minutes from me.

Have a great weekend and hope everything is well for you.

Starting to Warm Up

It actually made it to 38 degrees today.  Right now it is snowing a little.  Could spring be around the
corner?
Rotated cross stitch pieces around the house.  I got rid of all the winter ones and just put up a variety of Prairie Schooler:  Daffodils (March), Spring Time and Weather Wise.  I love Prairie Schooler but, I have said that before.

Took the day off from the move and getting things arranged.  I have to deal with the pharmacy first thing.  They will blister pack her medications and send them over the the Assisted Living.  I  have to stop at the bank to change the address and order new checks.  I  have to stop at the post office. The realtor is also going to be coming tomorrow.  My aunt helped clean out her closet.  I went through it again with her yesterday and really scaled it down more.

Here is the latest update of His Eye on the Sparrow.  I may take a break from it for a little while.  I really want to work on La D Da's Spring Hare.  I'm just waiting for the fabric and fibers.  I also have things coming from the Nashville Market.  The Stitching Bee went to Market.  She got 3 of 5 on my list.  I haven't asked her what she got.  I want to be surprised.

That should pretty much wrap it up.
I am taking M-T-W and already have Thursdays off.
I was going to take Friday off too to recover but, my boss is being a prick.
That is a whole other story that I won't get into.

So have an awesome week.
I'm just wishing my life away for a few days.
Thank you so much for the words of encouragement from many of you.
Now to just get use to the time change.

Progress is Slow

Progress is slow.
It has been a busy week.  My co-worker took a few days off to go to Florida.
It doesn't look like the weather had been good, at least by her FB pictures.
I have been working more because of it.
I have also finished the scarf I made for myself and that turned out great.
Too bad you can't feel the yarn.  It is a chunky alpaca yarn and is so incredibly soft!
I have also been working on a pair of socks.  They were on hold until I finished the scarf.
I'm doing them on rather short circular needles for socks.  I have started on the heel flap.
Progress has been slow on His Eye is on the Sparrow.
There is a new tree, a weird animal near the urn of oranges, might it be a hyena? A crown, bird, flower, owl and something that may be a fox.  I'm starting on another star.
 A little closer up.
Then there has been a lot of time spent on assisted living and my mom.  She had the interview with the nurse last week and that went fine.  Now, I have a checklist of things I need to work on.  That is where the co-workers vacation is complicating things.  I don't have time to make phone calls.  The one thing I really need to do is find a mover:  2 guys and a truck type.  I have one I want to try and call tomorrow in between clients just so I can settle on a date.  Once that happens, everything else will fall into place with work.  I am thinking of taking the week on March 9th off to get the move and all the extraneous things done.

My sister and her family were here this weekend and did some organizing.  She went through pictures and a little of the closet.  She did take her shopping for underwear and that was really helpful.  My sister of course had to let me know that mom has mixed emotions.  Boy, don't I already know that.  My sister and her family now realize that this is the best thing.  They last saw her in July and have noticed she has slipped.  I only talk about my mom.  We are going through similar things with my mother in law.  Her name is on the list there too but, haven't heard on her yet...one at a time.

Trying to find time for the stitching because that helps keep me sane.  Good thing is that it is portable and I can take it with me.  Hopefully the week will be smooth.

Keep on stitching
