Are You Listening Hoffman Distributors?

I am getting very close to the finish line here.
I would say I am 3/4 of the way done.
I really love the sun!
This is from Prairie Schooler Summer Samplers a re-release from Hoffman Distribution.\
I am really happy they have bought the Prairie Schooler Designs and are releasing them again.
But.....Are you listening Hoffman Dis?  I wish you would print them on something a little more substantial.
We are paying full price but, plain paper?  Use something a little heavier please.
Over the years, I have developed a fondness for Pyrex Butterfly Gold (1972-1978)
I have nesting bowls and some casseroles.
We were bumming around on Saturday and found a butter dish and a small casserole about 1 1/2 inches deep and 6" diameter.
It will be great for dips and such.
It was really fun talking to the shop owner about Pyrex.
He told us that he sells the butter dishes as soon as he finds them.
It is fun to look for something specifically when going to Antiques Stores.
I have never seen a butter dish before so, of course, I had to snap it up!

I published and then decided to talk about my latest experience with the local framer.
I am becoming distraught.
I brought her my His Eye is on the Sparrow on April 26 and I still don't have it back.
After she had it 6-7 weeks I called and she told me one of the sides of the frame came scratched so she had to get a new one.
I called again three weeks after that and she said she just got the part and it would be done the mid week. I went mid week while I was running errands and got a song and dance about "being sooo busy and being sick and she was training someone".
I don't hide my feelings, I'm sure I looked angry.
April 26 to now....almost 12 weeks.
What is a reasonable time for framing????
I'm getting worried she has made a mistake and ruined it.
I don't believe I will be taking anything back to her.
I usually do my own framing but this was a bigger piece than what I can handle.

Hope you have had a great weekend!
Have a wonderful week!

Keep on Stitching and have a great week.
Monica

  1. The Prairie Schoolers are great designs--yes on higher quality printing and papers. Great find on the pyrex--I have some of my Grandmothers--getting harder to find.

  4. I agree, you are paying more for the PS re-prints now then when they first came out. They should be done on a a quality stock.
OH, I do hope nothing happened to your Sparrow piece.
Isn't that the way it usually goes?
12 weeks is a long time already!

  6. Such a pretty design....and I agree totally about the quality of paper they are printed on.
Keeping my fingers crossed that the framer is just rushed off her feet and that nothing has happened to your stitching.

  7. I don't want to scare you but I had the same thing happen to me with framing and got every excuse in the book. Finally she caved and told me that she had dropped the glass through my piece that took me a year to finish and tried to fix the fabric herself. Good luck to you and I would keep right at her!!!!

  8. My framer generally takes less than a week to frame my projects. It's a two person shop and it looks like they have a fair number of projects ready on any given day. I just finished Ann Dale (a large sampler too) and even that only took seven days. Something is going on. I'd probably just ask for my sampler back and take it somewhere else.

  9. It shouldn't take this long to frame a piece! I hope you get it back quickly and undamaged!

    Pretty stitching!

  10. Oh my goodness, that is such a beautiful piece, I would be worried too. I have never had a piece take that long. I know what you mean about the paper, I ordered one of the reprinted charts too. Love that summer design.
