I Thought I Knew

We have had two other puppies in the past.  I thought this puppy I would be better at this.  I'm not.
I am so confused about crate training etc.  I have read multiple things about it.  One thing will say you can't crate a young puppy the other thing will say crate your puppies at night.  You know what, I don't think it matters until the puppy is old enough anyway.  We are totally changing the strategies.  I have the top off his crate and I'm feeding him in it.  We have it in the living room right now and he's sleeping in it.  I have totally re-arranged the laundry room and moved our pantry cabinet so I can reduce the size of the space that we will keep him in at night and when we are at work.  The space will accommodate his bottom part of his crate and give him room to potty as needed.  A little more manageable size than what we blocked last night until he gets bigger and needs more room and or we can crate him.

Buster on the other hand is totally stressed out.  I think he would run away from home if he could.
He is having a real drool issue.  Puddle of drool on the couch cushion.
Drool on the screen of the window.
Drool bubble hanging from his chin
Nothing turns a house upside down like a new puppy.  Needless to say, there hasn't been much stitching.

Have a great Labor Day.
Keep on Stitching

  1. Almost like having a baby, actually a puppy is a baby! Good luck! Just like with children all the work pays off!

  2. awwww bless his cotton paws ... we crated our pups at night and left it open during the day so that they had a quiet space to go and chill ... they used it right up till about a year old and then we collapsed it down ... we started to leave the cage door open at night once the must chew everything phase had stopped ... hope that helps a bit :) love mouse xxxx

  3. Your puppy is a cutie! We crated our puppy when we brought him home at 7 weeks. We did use the partition to create a small enough space for him at that age. The partition moved as he grew. He loves his crate. Hope Buster adjusts to having a new pup in the house.
