Nearly Have The Border Connected

I have nearly got the border connected.
Once that's done, I have to put the berries in.
I am pleased with how it is turning out.
 The peonies are winding down.
The dark pink plant bloomed a little later than the light pink.

Going to volunteering on Sunday at a water station at a Triathlon.
That should be exciting.

Not a very exciting post.
Just running out of steam tonight.
Have a great weekend!
Ours is going to be really busy.

I Know I Have the Frame Parts. Now, Just to Find Them

I pressed seven stitched projects today, things I have blogged about.
Two projects will be finished differently.  One as a tin top and the other a bellpull.
I know I have the frame parts for the other five.
It's just a matter of finding them.
I have one ready for a frame and have the frame for it.  Didn't count that one.
Boy, I have my work cut out for me!

The latest update on Abigail.
I have started on the border.
This was last years Prim Stitcher's club from Dyeing to Stitch.
I got this years but, not anywhere near the front of the queue yet.
Saw on the Prim Stitcher's Society FB page someone is done.
I just don't know how someone can stitch so fast!

Beautiful day today!
Started out a little sketchy, cloudy and cool.
This afternoon has been sunny and 75!
Can't beat that!!

Thanks for stopping.

Coffee with Nancy

I have decided to participate in the Prim Stitchers (Face Book) SAL May Basket.  Its a freebie from Brenda Gervais at With Thy Needle and Thread.I have it all planned out:  the fabric, the thread, the supplies to finish it but, thought I might like some chenille or pom poms.  I have dyed chenille but, I don't have the right color.

I checked out the available hand dyed chenille.  I have some hand dyed mini pom-poms from Dames of the Needle but, they weren't the right color.I decided to contact Nancy at Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe Check It Out.  She has been doing some really awesome give-aways.Rather than trying to figure out what may be the right color, I emailed her a list of DMC floss colors that were possible matches to the thread I plan on using and some of my finishing fabric.  She has also been running a special on her Ebay store: buy 5 get #6 free. Initially, she didn't think she had any matches but, when I checked my email this morning she thought she possibly had a match to the gold I was seeking.

This morning when I jumped on my email, I contacted her about where I could see the color.
I was sitting at the kitchen counter, drinking coffee, watching CBS morning show (I stopped watching the Today Show when everything was all about "whats trending"...what do I care?)
And she emailed me back, I emailed her, she emailed me back...more coffee

Well...it was like having coffee with Nancy and I emailed that to her.She agreed and she also had some cookies.  I told her I hadn't eaten yet but, was going to have a bagel with some of Trader Joe's Sunflower Seed Butter....if you haven't had the chance, the stuff is great! She sent me a pay pal invoice, I payed it and its on its way...can't wait!

Damn USPS though.  I ordered some fabric and thread for my sister's birthday present.  I ordered it 11 days ago from 123 Stitch.  They are usually so fast.  I had an email from them June 8th that the package had been sent with a tracking number.  Apparently, it is hung up in Macon GA....what the heck.  Who knows when it will get here.

Pictures of my flowers:  My peonies....I love peonies!

 The hanging basket
Some roses, only a few have opened but,.....
 there are soooo many buds.
The poppies are starting even though Henry Ford has trampled them down.
Weigela in the back raised bed.  My ones in the front yard were damaged by the winter and a Prune-Happy Husband
My old Virginia roses.  These can get spectacular but, again Bob gets crazy with a pruning shears and has them so trimmed back.
Not posting stitchy pics.  May be next time.
Hope your week has been going well.  Thanks for stopping.

Two Weeks in a Row

We went to the movies again this weekend.
We probably won't go see anything now for six months.
This week was Jurassic World.
I very much remember seeing the first Jurassic Park twenty two years ago.
We actually saw it in August after I had my gallbladder taken out.
I had that done on Monday and saw the movie on Thursday.
The twins were five months old and my parents came to help since I wasn't suppose to lift.
How long do you think that lasted?
When that raptor's head came out between the wires in the power room, I nearly went over the back of my seat!
Bob is still laughing about that!
It was a very entertaining movie and best seen in the theater since you get the effects best.

Couple of quick picks of Abigail:
As you can see, I'm nearly done with the alphabet.
I thought I would include a picture of a throw my good friend Arttie made for me.
It some quilting for my mom to do.
She has started a FB page so prospective clients can see her quilts.
She does an amazing job.
Mom is done quilting it and has moved on to a throw for my sister.
She is talking now about not wanting to do anymore.
We will see how long that will last.
I have some fabric I got on sale I could make into a funky table runner.
In case you haven't been keeping up...I don't know how that could happen.
Nancy at the Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe is having a fantastic give-away and here is today's offering.  She has some great things!  So check it out.

That wraps it up.  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  They go by much too fast!

Christmas in July but, First an Update

I plucking away at A Salute to Abigail.
I complain all the time about not having enough time to stitch but, here I go again.
I signed up to participate in the Prim Stitchers Society May Basket secret SAL.
I have all my supplies together including, I think the finishing.
And I'm waiting for some supplies to work on my sister's birthday present.
And, like I said just not enough time.
I thought I might post a few pics of the boys.
Henry Ford is starting to slowly calm down.
He will be a year old next month.
Bob has been taking him to hunting/bird dog training.
So far, I think it is more training the hunter than the dog.
Henry wants to play but, he just doesn't get that he has to let go of the toy so I can throw it.
He really just wants to play tug of war but, I'm not falling for that.
Buster was at the groomers today.
He was good but, the groomer was kind of crabby today.
She better not be crabby the next time or I'll be looking for a new groomer.
I think she was too busy today.
He does look good.
Finally, in case you haven't heard...
Her give-aways are usually very nice and this one is no exception.
Stop by and enter, let her know I sent you!
Hope your week has been wonderful.
Thanks for stopping!
Have a great weekend.

A Salute to Abigail

I've been making progress on BBD's A Salute to Abigail.
I've had to rip out somethings are re-stitch.
Generally, I catch my mistakes before I go too far.

Could have stitched more today but, went to the movies.
We saw San Andres.
I love disaster movies and there really hasn't been too many over the last few years.
Hollywood is making way too many Dystopia movies like the Hunger Games.
There was a trailer for another one called the Scorch Trials.
I prefer disaster because when all is said and done there is a happy ending...at least the ones I've seen

Yesterday, Bob and our son Ed went trout fishing.
Ed decked in fishing attire taking a lunch break.
Bob has just been itching to fish but, there has been too much going on.
In two weeks, they are going to check out the trout creeks in Marquette County.
They had a fun day.
I took a nap...fun day!
That about wraps it up.  Short, sweet and to the point!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

I'm Still Alive

I'm still alive but, the craziness continues.
(Heavy sigh)
My house is still a disaster with everyone just dumping things.

I have been stitching tho.
I have taken a break from His Eye on the Sparrow.

I had won Stacy Nash's Country Sampler Early Alphabet Pinkeep from Samplers and Santas.
It was my travel piece for a while and then I finished it.
His Eye on the Sparrow is a monumental piece and I am taking a break for a little while.
Here is the pinkeep.

I just started working on Black Bird Design A Salute to Abigail that was part of the Prim Stitcher's group from Dyeing to Stitch.  I feel the need to do something patriotic for the 4th.
I also just got the project I'm going to work on for my sister's birthday.  I don't know if it will be done for her birthday but, that's okay.  LOL.

We are meeting each other in Chapel Hill NC mid July to visit Katy.
That should be a fun time.
If there is a good cross stitch store in the area, let me know.
I know there is a needle point place not too far but, I'm just not a needlepointer.

The weather is getting summery.
The mosquitoes in the area are fierce.
Our poor little brown bats have been ravaged by White Nose Disease a fungus.
Who knows if they will ever really recover.

Have a wonderful weekend
