Red House is Done!!

Since I finished Little Deeds, I've been working on HATS Martha Dawson and I finished the red house!
This really is a lovely stitch and it has taken me around ten days to finish the house.
There is a lot of stitching in this house!
I think I will keep working on this until the BBDSAL weekend.
I'm not exactly following the segments of the stitch a long but, I'm okay with that.
Its a little wrinkly, sorry about that.

We have been very busy,  My sister and her husband were here five days.
We had the funeral memorial for our cousin and a family reunion.
There were lots of things going on and lots of cooking.
Katy and Steve were here too.
They left on Monday.
My sister and her husband left on Wednesday and I went back to work
Now Bob's brother and his family are visiting.
They aren't staying here but we are trying to spend time with them.
They will be here tomorrow night for dinner.

Pictures of some of my flowers.
I don't know all the names.
The minture petunias are Calibrachoa.
The humming birds really love these.

I don't know the names of the clusters of flowers but, they are very pretty.
 I do greatly enjoy them.

I also have pots of petunias and marigolds.
The marigolds help repel the deer.
During the summer, if I notice the deer are eating something, I just move the marigolds.

Work has thankfully slowed down some but, I'm afraid it may have slowed down too much.
Other areas are busy so I can supplement hours at the hospital.
Wouldn't it just be tragic if I had to take time off and I don't know, maybe, stitch?
I think not!!

Hope you are having a wonderful summer!
If you haven't done it, please consider being vaccinated for Covid 19.
It will be the only way to stop this bugger!!

Keep on Stitching!

Flowers are Blooming

There is a lot blooming in my garden this week.
My roses are so pretty.
Unfortunately, they only bloom for a short time.
I have another rose that blooms for a lot of the summer.
My Russian Sage is blooming.
Last year, I had a lone milkweed grow.
This year there are a few more.
Milkweed is one of the Monarch Butterfly's favorite food.
I'm hoping that I will see some caterpillars.

The peonies are just starting to bloom.
They are my absolute favorite garden flower.
I need to move them in the fall because, the spot is too shady.
They like full sun just like the rhubarb.
I plan on moving them in the back to the south side of the shed.
The poppies are blooming too, my the milkweed.
The rose that blooms a long time is next to the poppies.
They are great friends and have been very happy next to each other.
The poppy really didn't take off until I planted the rose next to it.

I have been working on my sister's birthday present.
This is the little bit of progress I made prior to the BBD SAL weekend.
I finished the stitching part of the gift so, will be back working on this tonight

I was putting stuff away in the sewing room and picked up a frame in a basket and blopped it on the Samplers Remembered Sampler Roll but, honestly, I didn't like the finish.
I have made rolls, that wasn't the issue.
I just was too much on a roll and you really didn't get the full effect.
I much prefer it to be framed.

Stopped to eat dinner and then brought some to Ed and work.
There was a storm moving in and we got home about 2 minutes before it started.
Took my hanging basket down and Bob went to dump a garden cart and put it in the shed.
Then all heck broke loose, pouring rain and hail about the size between a pea and a marble.
It's done now but, may pick up some more.

We have a busy weekend next week, lots of family stuff going on.

Have a great week, get some stitching in.
Stay safe and healthy
Washing hands is super important, all kinds of other viruses out there and since we are getting away from masks.....well you know.
Keep on Stitching!

Blackbird Designs SAL Weekend

Been working on Blackbird Designs Rose Hips and Ivy
I have finished the vines and leaves around the bird on the berry basket, the small red bird and the
new basket with the flower stem.
I will get some more done tonight after supper but, then it will be too late to post.
I'll post it on my IG Hooplessstitcher account.
I am really enjoying this stitch
I was busy  (so what else it new) this weekend.
I have a cousin who passed away from Covid 19 around Christmas.
The funeral will be in two weeks but, her husband wanted it to be more of a celebration so, he is also planning an family reunion with her brothers.
There has been alot of texting and phoning with family members to help communitcate things.
My sister and her husband will be staying with us as will Katy and Steve.
I was trying to straighten up the sewing room, a never ending job.
When my mother in law moved to the nursing home, this was hangin in her Assisted living apartment.

I stitched this for her as a Christmas present probably 1988 or 1989.  I brought it home and stuck it in
sewing room.  While I was cleaning, I sent the picture to Katy thinking it may go well on a small wall in her dining room or possibly her office.  The dining room is blue and her office is a light terra cotta.
It was done on Aida before I knew about linen or even considered attempting.
I was waiting for some CC Blackbird from Hobby House and got the notice they had it in  I decided I didn't want the $3.20 postage to go to waste so I ordered a fat quarter of Fiber on a Whim Parchment.
It has a green undertone.
I'm not sure I like it, good thing  I only got a fat quarter but, I may end up liking it.
It will be good for something I'm sure.

Just before the BBD weekend SAL, I finished the flower basket on Little Deeds.
I will mostly like finish this before returning to work on Martha Dawson for June.
I only have the motifs on the bottom to finish.

It has been very hot the last two days, well into the 90's.
Thank goodness for central air!
Hope you had a splendid weekend.
Keep praying we get to 75-80% vaccination!
Keep on Stitching
