A Productive Weekend

I know I was debating whether to finish the sheep with dmc or take it out and use Whisper thread.  I was going to use the Whisper but, then I just couldn't find it so, I went ahead and finished with the dmc.  I just have the border to finish.
I still haven't decided how I'm going to finish them: framed vs pin keep.  Such decisions!

I did get the Prairie Schooler April and the Shepherds Bush Eden's Lament finished.  I had bought the fabric at the quilt store and it is the same line of Civil War reproduction fabric.  The colors are nice and tend to go with what I'm working on.  I have gotten alot of that fabric.  It is pink with a green pattern.  I really didn't see anything else I liked that wasn't already cut into a kit.
It really goes well with both pieces.
After I got the pinkeep stitched up, I had to add the ribbon around. It is suppose to be crinkly and then there are beads too.  You can't see them too much.  I like the way it turned out, but what a pain to do.

I have another Shepherd Bush small like this one in the queue.  They will look good together.  I think it too has the ribbon around the edge.
I finished the PS as a hanger for the china hutch.  I didn't get too fancy.  The hanger is organdy ribbon and a couple of antique buttons that I tied on with some 3363.

I have the next project ready to go:  Homespun Elegance Scenes of Spring.
Couldn't decide which picture looks best without or with the flash so, I used both.

More true to color but the flash also seems to wash out everything.
The weather was better today.  It snowed and rained yesterday.  Snow has been melting.  The next few days are suppose to be rainy/snowy, in other words, MESSY!  The work week will be better since everyone should be back and I'm taking Friday off to see Katy.

I have been perplexed by the blogs switching to Bloglovin'.  I think I have it now.  I write my blogs on my laptop because I can edit and deal with pictures easier.  When I read blogs I use my IPad and a blog reader app, Feedler.  I have dried bloglovin when I tried a blog I saw on the Today Show but, didn't care for it since it seemed so "busy".  I suppose just what you get use too.

Hope you have had a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for all the great comments.  I did love the puppy in that picture.
Keep on Stitching

  1. Such great projects. I love that little Shepherd's Bush pillow.
Finishes take so much time. That's why I mostly frame.
